Ashley Aucoin was born and raised in Chéticamp, an Acadian village in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
Hailing from the coastal village of Chéticamp, Nova Scotia, Ashley AuCoin is a rising voice in the East Coast music scene. With a sound rooted in folk, bluegrass, acoustic, country, and traditional Acadian music, Ashley’s voice is both powerful and gentle — resonating with warmth and emotional depth.
Her musical inspiration flows from her deep connection to family, heritage, and the rhythms of coastal life. These themes, along with timeless reflections on love, shine through in every performance. Though she performs vocals exclusively, Ashley is currently learning guitar and ukulele to further connect with her craft.
Ashley has graced stages at the Roots to Boots Festival, collaborated with Le Conseil Des Arts, supported local charities through music, and brought her heartfelt sound to barrooms and gatherings all summer long. She often performs with a rotating circle of talented local musicians, bringing a collaborative spirit to her shows.
Her debut album — Fools Get Lucky — is set for release in the summer of 2025. The project features a collection of carefully chosen cover songs that reflect her influences, along with her first original material she’s written!
